The Bango Windfarm is located in Ngunnawal country, north of Yass and south of Boorowa. Once completed, it will consist of 46 wind turbines and its output is expected to power 120,000 homes.
Last week CWP Renewables reported on its progress at the Bango Windfarm, saying in the Western Cluster, 16 of the 21 installed wind turbines have been commissioned, with 15 currently exporting to the grid. Additional turbines are being brought online as they pass testing requirements. In the eastern cluster, 16 of the 25 wind turbines have been fully constructed, with another two awaiting blade installation. CWP Renewables now has four turbines commissioned, with three turbines currently generating. Hold point testing continues, and it’s anticipated that approval to move to the next stage of testing will occur shortly, which will allow 28 turbines to export to the grid.
Site rehabilitation and revegetation activities have been a major focus in recent months. This has included final shaping of embankments and drains, spreading of topsoil, hydroseeding, installation drainage controls, and weed management.
