Join Camille Kersley, professional artist, Artshealth practitioner and Counsellor for a supportive, fun and invigorating ceramic workshop.
There is absolutely no experience necessary (in anything) to join this workshop.
During this workshop, you will learn how to:
- Employ simple, tactile hand building techniques such as– paddling, adding, pinching etc. when constructing your work.
- Employ ancient and contemporary surface decorating techniques such as impressing, sgraffito, sculpting, and under-glaze painting.
- Attach wet clay parts securely so as things don’t fall apart.
- Understand some of clay’s idiosyncrasies that can impact your work (shrinkage, memory, personalities).
- Experiment and trust in your own creative processes.
- Your completed works (up to three) will be taken by Camille at the end of the workshop.
This next process involves a kiln firing to1000c, then a clear glaze (liquid glass) applied individually to each piece, and then a second final firing to 1200c.
This is a time-consuming process so please allow approximately 3 weeks for the completed works to be available for collection/delivery.
