Community Grants 2020/21 Round 2

Last week the Yass Valley Council announced that the following seven community groups have received $17,855 in funding under Round 2 of Council’s 2020/21 Community Grants Program:

1. Yass Area Network of Landcare Groups - $1,870 to purchase weather proof plant labels for nursery.

2. Yass Netball Association - $300 to purchase new netballs.

3. Yass Show Society - $1,825 for fencing around dressage arena, plantings and crusher dust for the arena.

4. Zac’s Place - $3,710 for renovation/repairs to two office spaces to provide services to community.

5. Yass Community Carols - $2,500 to contribute to Yass Community Carols Event.

6. Yass Roos - $3,650 to purchase ball stop nets and post facilities.

7. Murrumbateman Village Market - $4,000 for the installation of roller doors for the Food Shed at Murrumbateman Recreation Grounds (contingent on Development Consent being obtained).

It was also decided that staff will meet with the Bowning Community Association regarding community participation in the maintenance of community land and verges.
