Come along to this workshop to learn how to make the squishiest, cosiest, warmest socks in no time at all with a crochet hook. Join Australian crochet designer, Deanne Ramsay, at Blackwattle Alpaca Farm in Murrumbateman this Socktober to learn how. The 7 hour Create @ Blackwattle session is designed to teach intermediate level crocheters basic sock anatomy and take you through all the steps required for creating a crocheted sock from the toe up.
Best suited to crafters who already understand the basics of crochet. The technique Deanne will teach you is a terrific method because not only does it allow you to try your sock on as you go to ensure you have the perfect fit, but you can utilise every last bit of your yarn without the risk of running out, and there is no seaming at the end.
You will learn how to:
- Create a toe box
- Shape a gusset
- Create a heel turn and heel flap
- Learn tricks for shaping the leg and allowing for a high instep.
At the end of the workshop you will have created a mini sock using all the above techniques. Leave with the confidence needed to create the perfect fitting pair for yourself at home using your remaining yarns and a bonus pattern provided by Deanne!
