The Yass CWA had its final meeting for the year on 2nd December 2021, which was followed by a sumptuous Christmas lunch hosted by the President, Brenda Phillips. The following is Brenda’s end of year reflection:
“Welcome to our last official meeting for the year and what a year. We thought 2020 was hard but who would have known that 2021 would be worse. Let us hope that 2022 turns out far better.
“The CWA street stall was successful, and even though it was a little damp it wasn't as bad as forecast. We made over $700 which was slightly more than last year, thank you to everyone who made and donated items and for the members who came and helped on the day. We look forward to our gift-wrapping stall at late-night shopping on the 16th of December. I thank everyone for all their work during the past year, it’s very much appreciated.
“Contact has been made with primary and public schools regarding the CWA Education Grants being available from Yass Branch for students transitioning to high school. I have spoken to Berimba, Bowning, Mt Carmel and Wee Jasper schools. “I hope everyone is coming back to my place for lunch after the meeting, it’s always a nice end to the year.
“I wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year, hoping you all have a good holiday break, enjoy whatever you chose to do and I look forward to seeing you all back in February 2022.”
