The Office of the NSW Cross-Border Commissioner has implemented a COVID Recovery Round to support cross-border communities that have been demonstrably impacted by the events of the past few years, particularly border restrictions.
The $20 million Cross-Border Commissioner’s Infrastructure Fund provides grants from $25,000 upwards to deliver projects within the next three years. Regional councils, community and sporting groups, and charities on the ACT/New South Wales borders, such as the Yass Valley, can now apply for the grants to deliver projects that will improve targeted investment in social, economic, environmental and cultural infrastructure.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said the NSW Government is committed to getting regional NSW back on track, particularly the cross-border communities that carried an additional burden when borders closed due to COVID.
“This fund has already delivered seven game-changing projects since it rolled out in 2018, from recreation facilities in Mungindi, to a new golfing precinct at Cobram-Barooga, and I look forward to seeing the projects this round will produce,” Mr Toole said.
The COVID Recovery Round expressions of interest close on 28 January 2022.
Applicants can contact the Office of the NSW Cross-Border Commissioner by email at enquiries@cbc.nsw.gov.au.
