To boost tourism facilities in the Federal electorate of Eden-Monaro, the Government has announced that over $677,000 in grants will be shared by seven local holiday and caravan parks to support upgrades to facilities and amenities.
The Caravan Park Grants program, which is providing $10 million for 111 park upgrade projects across Australia, is part of Government’s $48 million package of new funding to support Australia’s tourism and travel businesses and workers in their continued recovery from the impacts of the pandemic.
Grants have been offered for projects in Eden-Monaro, including, here in the Yass Valley:
- Capital Country Holiday Park, Sutton ($100,000) – A new playground for children and adults, and refurbishing the old putt putt golf course and old tennis court.
The Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories, and member for Eden-Monaro, the Hon Kristy McBain MP, said, “Caravan and holiday parks are a popular accommodation option for families, budget conscious travellers and people keen to explore Australia, particularly in our regions.
“Our investment of over $677,000 will improve visitor experiences at seven caravan and holiday parks in Eden-Monaro, which will encourage interstate and international visitors to stay longer.
“Better facilities will attract more visitors to experience our amazing destinations and local experiences, which will have significant benefits to our local businesses and economies.”
