Andrew Caillard MW has launched his new book, The Australian Ark, a comprehensive 1,500 page, 3 volume Australian wine history covering 1788 to the present day.
The book draws on hundreds of sources from original First Fleet records to early Australian family archives and newspaper excerpts, and is supported by over 400 illustrations, some of which have been drawn from the archives of Australia’s most famous wineries.
Wine Australia has announced the book is now available for pre-order enabling vignerons to secure a number at a healthy discount for personal use as well as for sale at cellar doors (30 per cent margin).
The Australian Ark will only have limited distribution in bookstores so this is a key opportunity to purchase with a 20 per cent deposit. As well as the special discounted pre-order offer to wineries, the production team is also able to offer small volume (20+ copies) bespoke runs of hardback editions for wineries or regions to be used for gifts, educational tools and/or retail sales from stores or cellar doors.
Trade pricing and RRPs on all editions, including bulk orders, is listed here: https://australianark.com/shop/ Pre-orders are open until March 15, with delivery in October/November 2023.
The Australian Ark is operating in a not-for-profit capacity and all surplus proceeds will be steered into a fund to sponsor research and various activities to promote the storied history of Australian wine into the future, both here and abroad.
