Applications have opened for the NSW Government’s $160 million Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) Round Five.
Since 2017, the SCCF has provided $500 million for more than 2,000 local projects that make regional communities even better places to call home. Here in the Yass Valley, the SCCF has already afforded:
Binalong: $87,090 for resurfacing the tennis courts.
Gundaroo: $55,724 for the park playground shade and sustainable power project.
Murrumbateman:
- $125,160 for the upgrade of the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground’s storage and horse yards
- $80,000 for the upgrade of lighting at the Murrumbateman Recreational Precinct’s tennis courts.
Sutton: $376,350 for the upgrade of Sutton community oval grounds.
Yass:
- $178,129 for resurfacing four netball courts at Joe O’Connor Park
- $194,512 for upgrading three YLTC tennis courts with synthetic turf and upgrading lighting on two courts
- $450,000 for upgrading the lighting at Walker Park.
Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman, said “This is great news for the whole region, and I am thrilled that the NSW Government is delivering on its commitment of supporting investment in regional and rural communities, making our region an even better place to visit and live.
“We’ve seen the benefits provided by previous Stronger Country Communities Fund rounds from Boorowa to Crookwell, in Goulburn, and from Yass to Moss Vale and I encourage all eligible applicants to review the guidelines and submit an application”.
