Visitors Are Coming and I Hate Cleaning!
It’s not essential to have your house spotless when visitors come.
First things first, clear your mind and remember that visitors are coming to spend time with you.
List everything you think is essential to do ahead of their visit. Then get realistic, culling the list to the bare minimum.
There doesn’t have to be baking which leads to more washing up, as well as the seemingly endless vacuuming and dusting.
Last minute weed pulling isn’t necessary, especially if you’re unwell or it’s a quick cuppa and chat.
Make sure your house surfaces are clean and tidy, and that if your guests are staying with you overnight, the guest room contains:
- A comfortable bed
- Clean linen and pillows
- An extra rug, just in case your guests get cold as the wintry weather creeps in
- Safe, reliable heating/cooling
- Dust free surfaces
- Room to hang clothes
- A rubbish bin
- A couple of magazines or books suited to their taste. You might also have a collection of pamphlets showcasing Yass Valley highlights.
- A bunch of fresh flowers, unless your guests have allergies.
The bathroom should be clean and contain good-quality towels for your guests. Provide them with quality hand wash and shower products.
