The Yass Solar Energy Park is a proposed large-scale development that aims to harness solar energy to store and deliver more affordable, reliable and clean electricity for NSW homes and businesses. The project will include the construction of a solar farm and energy storage system (battery) and will operate alongside agricultural activities.
Located south-west of Yass, the energy park will generate, store and provide renewable energy, leveraging existing transmission infrastructure in the local area.
Early engagement with the local community is underway with two community drop-in sessions planned for February. These sessions will be the first of many opportunities for the community to learn more about the project, talk to the team and provide valuable local feedback.
Details of the sessions, which are being held at Yass Soldier's Memorial Hall, Comur Street, Yass, are:
- Tuesday, 7 February 2023, 12pm – 2pm
- Wednesday, 8 February 2023, 8am – 10am
Yass Lions Club will be hosting a free BBQ and breakfast at the sessions.
If you can’t make it to the Community Information Sessions and if you have any questions or feedback, you can phone 1800 845 067 or email: yassenergypark.au@engie.com.
